Sunday Announcements
March 28, 2010

We are saddened to report the death of the Rev. Stuart Fitch, father of Rick Fitch, who passed away in the presence of his family on Friday March 19. Our condolences and prayers go out to Rick, his wife Shelly, and their whole family.

Come to our annual Good Friday Concert! The St. Cecilia Choir and Cantiamo Sonoma will join forces with the Incarnation Orchestra to perform Franz Schubert's "Stabat Mater D.383 in F minor" on Good Friday evening, April 2 at 8:00 p.m. Sponsored by Numina. Nicholas Xenelis will be guest conductor, and Leslie Dukes will be organist. Among the featured soloists will be our own Carol Menke! This particular "Stabat Mater" contains some of the best choral writing of the period, including two fine fugues. Most people know Schubert for his beautiful lieder and instrumental works, but his choral works also feature his gift for the beautiful melodic line. Get your tickets now, they're going fast! Tickets are available from Carol Menke, or online at www.numinacenter.org.

The Altar Guild will need LOTS of fresh flowers to decorate the Church for Easter. Please bring your cut flowers and greens to the Parish Hall on Saturday, April 3. We need the flowers BEFORE 10:00 am. All colors and kinds are welcome. You can bring them from your gardens or from a nursery or store. Thank you!

Come to the Basket Full of Blessings Party! Our parish Easter party will be on April 3 this year, from 4 to 6 pm. See Daphne Vernon (707-579-2604 ext. 106) for more details. Fun and fellowship abound, come join us!

A note from Daphne Vernon-Easter Feast! This year, I am going to help St. Andrew's provide an Easter Feast for their Food Program participants and those in need on Tuesday, April 6. I am asking for donations of baked goods. Any baked goods would be a welcome dessert for this Easter Feast. You can deliver them to church Easter morning and leave them in Farlander Hall. They will be picked up Monday and served at the Easter dinner. Thank you in advance for your loving donations from your table to St. Andrew's.

The Living Room is proud to announce another fabulous night at the theater - a benefit performance at the 6th St. Playhouse to support homeless women and children. This year, the play is Tartuffe - the classic comedy by Moliere. Wednesday April 7: Reception at 7:30, Performance at 8:00. Proceeds benefit the Living Room. Tickets on sale at the Incarnation Bookstore!

The Prayer of the Heart Group April meeting is Wednesday, April 14, 7 - 8:30pm, in the library. All are welcome who want to practice the Prayer of the Heart (the Jesus Prayer) in a group.  If you have any questions, or for more information, please contact Lisa Jang, 707-527-9549.

(refreshments will be served)

~ A class for those new to our church, for seekers, for the curious, for those who think you might want to join the church, and even for those who definitely plan to join the church.

~ A place to safely explore your faith journey, as well as to connect with others who are new to Incarnation. You'll have a chance to meet some of our clergy and current leaders, hear about their faith journeys, and learn about the ministries and life of our congregation.

~ There will be opportunities to ask questions about the Episcopal Church-its ways of worship and traditions-and about our parish-its calling to serve in downtown Santa Rosa and beyond.

Please register for the class by signing up in Farlander Hall, calling the church office at 707-579-2604, or sending an email to smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org. Please let us know if you'll need childcare.

(Note: For those wishing to be confirmed, this course serves as partial preparation for confirmation. Those wishing to be confirmed should contact the office for more information.)

Words to Ponder: When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.
