Our Lenten Series "Lent: A Season of Reconciliation, Forgiveness and Hope" continues on Wednesday starting at 6 pm with a delicious Lenten meal in Farlander Hall. This is followed by our Lenten Series in the church at 6:45 pm. The series will continue on Wednesdays through March 24. We will be exploring different aspects of hope, mercy, and understanding. Along with Fr. Matt, we will have different speakers presenting during this series. This will be a wonderful experience and we look forward to having you be a part of this event! Church of the Incarnation and The Redwood Empire Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) present An Evening "Mini" Organ Recital featuring organist Jim Harrod, under the program direction of Harold Julander. Approximately 1/2 hour in length. Friday, March 12, 2010, 6 pm. Jim will be playing Charles Villiers Stanford's Organ Sonata No. 4, the "Celtica," an organ sonata on Irish themes - in honor of St. Patrick and everything Irish! Come to a training for all Eucharistic Visitors, Friendly Visitors, Flower Ministers and Pastoral Care Coordinators! Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Farlander Hall. 8:30 am (Sharp!) to 4:30 pm. Continental breakfast, gourmet lunch, and snacks will be served! Pastoral care begins with the first contact, and the Pastoral Care Team will be able to lend greater emotional support, if all team members are on the same page with a consistent approach to those we serve. This training day will be a day of fellowship and reflection on how best to accompany and give emotional support to those we serve. We will discuss listening skills, standards of confidentiality and the work done by each ministry group. Fr. Ed will be conducting the Diocesan Training on Sexual Misconduct Prevention component. Please RSVP to La Velle Seely-Ricketts at 707-528-2700 or Diane Bruce at 707-838-8676 to confirm that you'll be there. All are invited who would like to explore the possibility of serving on the Pastoral Care team. (Please note that those presently serving and wish to continue serving should plan to attend.)

New Small Group forming: Philosophy and Religion! Come check out the philosophy reading and discussion group. Philosophy is traditionally defined as the love of wisdom, but the most famous philosopher of antiquity (Socrates) claimed to know nothing at all. In the same spirit, Proverbs 3:5 warns that human understanding may not be so firm as we believe it to be. Philosophy studies matters that are elusive, yet there is something satisfying about the activity of exploring itself. Join a group where you can explore the limits of your understanding and look deeper into questions about knowledge, truth, justice, being and ethics. We will read texts as a group and come together to ask questions and discuss them in a spirit of openness and inquiry. Ultimately the direction of the readings will be determined by the interest of the group that develops. Ken Blair will be facilitating this new group. Ken taught Critical Thinking at San Francisco State and at SRJC. He's currently an adjunct faculty member at SRJC. There is a sign-up sheet on the Small Group table in Farlander or you can contact Mitch Garcia at smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org

Come to four free ballroom classes, then a dance to raise money for Haiti. See the flier in Farlander Hall. Instructor Jett Sharen has been a television and movie dancer for many years, from New York and Hollywood.  Let's have fun - learn waltz/foxtrot/rumba and swing and then have a dance. If interested please sign up. Sessions will start in mid April.

We maintain the freezer with meals for families and crisis, and it happens to be empty. Please contact Jan Chaffin-Saucer if you would like to contribute a dish.

The Living Room is proud to announce another fabulous night at the theater - a benefit performance at the 6th St. Playhouse to support homeless women and children. This year, the play is "Tartuffe" - the classic comedy by Molière. Wednesday April 7; proceeds benefit the Living Room. Reception at 7:30, performance at 8:00. Tickets on sale at the bookstore!

Wanted: Bookstore Assistants from the 11:15 Service! The Bookstore is still looking for additional help. We have had a wonderful response from parishioners who attend the 9:15 service and who have volunteered to work one Sunday a month following that service. However, we still need help for about a half-hour following the 11:15 service. If you are interested in this really fun job, please see Maggie in the Bookstore or call her at 707-495-2494.

Words to Ponder: Take full account of the excellencies you possess, and in gratitude remember how you would hanker after them, if you had them not.
