The
devastating earthquake in Haiti has us all concerned. Episcopal Relief
and Development has set-up a fund for emergency relief. You can be
assured that your donation will go directly to Haiti relief through this
charity. Go to: https://www.er-d.org/donate-select.php
The
earthquake reminds us of the importance of being prepared here in Sonoma
County. Local authorities say that a major quake along the Rogers Creek
fault is not a matter of "if" but "when." To see a map of where the
shaking would be most violent, go to this website: http://www.abag.ca.gov/bayarea/eqmaps/pickcity.html
We are
told not to depend on government relief - with Hwy 101 knocked out and the
local airport damaged, it could take many days for significant relief to
arrive. Here are some resources for how to respond during and after an
earthquake, and what to have on hand: http://www.abag.ca.gov/bayarea/eqmaps/fixit/planplan.html
