gratefully calls the Church of the Incarnation their rehearsal home, will
perform their fall concert "The Road Home" this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. right

are also members of Cantiamo Sonoma, directed by our own Carol Menke. The
concert will include choral gems spanning from the Renaissance to the present -
come and support this fine local choir! Tickets will be available at the
door.

am. Our Pot-luck Luncheon will start at 12:00 noon. All are welcome to join us.
The program, at 1:00 pm, will be a speaker from Filipino Historical Society. I
know this will be an interesting and informative program. It will be fun to
join together for lunch and visit with each other.
The Tuesday Bible Group is reforming and will start up again in January. On
November 3rd and December 1st we will be hosting an open house of sorts for
this group. If you are interested in seeing firsthand what goes on in a small
group, now is your chance to find out. Come and join us for a time of
fellowship and food at the home of Cindy and Barry May. If you are interested,
please contact Mitch Garcia at (707) 703-4162 or email him at
smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org.
The Prayer of the Heart Group November meeting is Wednesday, November 4th, 7:30 - 9
pm, in the church. All are welcome who want to practice the Prayer of the Heart
(the Jesus Prayer) in a group. If any questions or for more information, please
contact Lisa Jang, 527-9549.
Next Sunday, November 8th, there will be a collection for the Fall Ingathering of United Thank Offering. This very important outreach opportunity
comes around every Spring and Fall, and thanks to our generous congregation, we
are able to send nearly $1000 each time for projects throughout the world. This
wonderful ministry began in 1889 with Julia Emery, one of our Episcopal saints,
and has grown over the years to over $3 million annually. Please be generous
and mindful of all our blessings.

a common cold? Check out your score on the Outreach Bulletin Board in Farlander
Hall.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
(A Summary Financial Report is posted on the
Bulletin Board in Farlander Hall. For more information or if you have any
questions about the report, please contact our Treasurer, John Nykamp)
--As
of September 30, the Church of the Incarnation has a year-to-date deficit of
approximately $6,100. The primary cause of this deficit is that pledge
income is about $25,000 below budget. Pledge statements were sent out in
late September and we are hoping that people will be able to fully fulfill
their 2009 pledge and help us eliminate the deficit.
--We have been able to keep
most expenses below budget which is helping keep the deficit at a manageable
level. Commission expenses which include the costs for the ministries of
the parish (Music, Youth, Outreach, etc.) are about $10,000 below budget,
salaries have been kept within budgeted levels and other operating expenses
(including diocesan apportionment) are also below budget. See the financial
statement posted in Farlander Hall for more information.
Thank you, good and faithful servants! (Matthew 25:21) Many thanks and blessings to Jan
Slaby, Ron and Carolyn Rausch and Linelle Lane for leading the Inquiries and
Seekers sessions in October. Because of your good efforts we were able to share
with others the mission of our church and of our faith as lived out in the
programs and the people here at Incarnation!
All-Parish Advent Party! Light your inner candle: come join us
Sunday, November 29th from 5-7 pm. We'll share the light of hope and renewal
together, amidst fun and fellowship. Make an Advent wreath (roll your own
beeswax candles!), and make Christingles, and enjoy yummy goodies. This year we
offer some new surprises! Fun for all ages - come see for yourself! We do ask
that you
RSVP to Daphne by Sunday, November 22nd if you're
coming, so we know how many Advent wreath kits to buy. Please find Advent
wreath kit sign up flyers in Farlander Hall, on the square table. Come join the
fun, for a beautiful kickoff for the season of Advent!
Outreach to Burbank School ~ Volunteering
for even one hour a week helps teachers and students. The teachers need
help grading papers or other tasks in the classroom that can be done. Call
Patty Hickey for more information or to sign up (568-6856).Another way to help is to donate pencils and erasers, as supply money
is more limited than ever. There will be a box in Farlander Hall to put your
pencils and erasers in. The children will be very grateful. Thank
you.
A note about Pastoral Care... My gosh, is it really the end of 2009

?? Each
year seems to pass more quickly than the last! The good news is that your
Pastoral Care team is alive and well and rejoicing in the return of Fr Matt
after his sabbatical. And, thanks to the Community Foundation of Sonoma County,
we finally have our AED in place in Farlander Hall. Thanks be to God for
our many blessings. Our next goal is to have a Parish Nurse/Coordinator in
place. Pamela Moore, Patrick Lancaster and I continue to meet to work on
this project and will keep you appraised of our progress-please, keep us in
your prayers as we work on this important project. If you have any Pastoral
Care concerns, please, notify the monthly Pastoral Care
Coordinator (listed in the bulletin every week) or call the church office
and let Claire know of your need or concern.

Community involvement opportunity! Heavenly Treasures is without a doubt the best thrift
store in Santa Rosa! (O.K., maybe we're just a little biased.) We make fabulous things available to the
public at low prices, and we also keep Living Room clients and their families
clothed. Heavenly Treasures also raises the funds which the Outreach Committee
donates to social service and justice organizations. Thanks to our loyal
customers and donors, our sales and donations to The Living Room have grown significantly
every year. We love the increased business and donations to TLR, but
hand-in-hand with those increases is a need for additional volunteers. Heavenly
Treasures is currently in need of people who can work just once a month, from
10-2 on weekdays. We'd love to talk with you about the great volunteer
opportunities at Heavenly Treasures. Just call Signe Sugiyama at 569-7448 or
email
heavenlytreasures576@gmail.com for more information.
