Dear MVG Supporters -  

I am delighted to tell you that Montgomery Victory Gardens will be receiving the "Community Hero" award tonight from the Montgomery County Civic Federation!

The MCCF, which represents neighborhood associations and other civic organizations from around our county, chose Montgomery Victory Gardens to receive this award for our campaign to bring vegetable gardens to the county's public schools.  It is a wonderful honor - and perhaps even better than the honor, I get to speak tonight to many of these same civic association representatives about the importance of growing our own food.

The talk will only be 10 minutes long, before they go on to the very important business of examining the county's proposed 2012 budget, but the meeting is open to the public, so you are very welcome to join us if you'd like.  The meeting will take place at 7:45pm tonight at the County Council building in Rockville.  Click here for more details.
