FROST WARNING FOR TONIGHT - TAKE ACTION!
Dear All - Just in case you haven't heard, we are expecting our first region-wide frost tonight, with temperatures dipping down into the high 20's. So now's the time to bring in any last tomatoes, peppers and eggplants, cull your remaining basil, and either harvest your lettuce, bring it inside if it's in a planter, or put a blanket over it. (It might make it without, since lettuce is considered "half-hardy" to frosts and light freezes, but if you want to make sure...) Other cool season plants such as spinach, broccoli and such should be okay, since it will only be a light freeze tonight (and then get warmer over the next several days), but take whatever precautions you can! Yours in eating every last thing you can get out of your garden,Gordon Clark, Project Director Montgomery Victory Gardens
