Feng Shui Tip of the Month
Water is associated with Prosperity in Feng Shui, so it is important that the quality of water in your home and business is good. Repair any leaking faucets, pipes, hoses or fountains to prevent beneficial ch'i from draining away.
Keep the water in outdoor fountains, swimming pools and ponds clear and moving, and direct the flow of water toward your home or business, not away from it.

Abundance
In Western Feng Shui, the area of the home and business associated with abundance is located in the left rear quadrant of a building from the front entrance in Prosperity. Not only does this sector represent financial success and accumulated wealth, it influences all the fortunate blessings that occur in our lives. Quite often, these comforts are overlooked while we concentrate our attention on amassing wealth. Clients nearly always look for Feng Shui advice in this area of their business first, then shift their focus to holding on to what they've accumulated. Throughout history, our desire and ability to gather possessions has shaped our idea of what it is to be prosperous. When calculating a person's net worth, tangible assets are counted for their market value. Yet Feng Shui recognizes abundance as an important component of our lives, not a defining one. It occupies only one of the nine life areas of the bagua, and is influenced by the stability of the other eight. A truly prosperous home enjoys good health, wisdom, helpers, creativity, recognition, family ties, and sound relationships. A successful business requires strong partnerships, communication, benefactors, innovative ideas, motivated employees, good will and depth of knowledge before profits start rolling in. At this time of year, my North American clients and friends ready their homes to celebrate Thanksgiving - a holiday with origins in the simple act of sharing a meal with family and friends and expressing gratitude for what we have. The traditional meal is relatively simple - root vegetables, poultry and baked goods. It is not customary to exchange gifts of monetary value at Thanksgiving but to focus on the basic necessities of food, shelter and companionship. With the commercialization and quantification of so many holidays, Thanksgiving has remained quite similar to the celebration documented hundreds of years ago. This year, my life has been enriched by many old and new friends, clients and family members, and for this I am grateful. Regardless of the burden that you carry or your balance sheet this Thanksgiving, take a moment to settle down, look around you and savor all the simple blessings in your abundant life. Wishing you good ch'i,
Diane Gallin
