Greetings!
This month we start out with a special report from Duane Henders, Global Teen Challenge's Latin America and Caribbean representative, about the great things God is doing through Teen Challenge in that region. This email is actually being sent from Brazil. Dave Batty and I (Gregg Fischer) are here with Duane Henders training Teen Challenge leaders in the use of the curriculum. It's a great joy to fellowship with the Teen Challenge family around the world.
We also want to give you a quick report on the recent Executive Leader training and your opportunity to join the upcoming session in October.
We welcome your feedback and would like your suggestions on what you would like to see in future issues of the Leadership Link.

Latin America and the Caribbean Teen Challenge Report by Duane Henders
Converts from Bolivia Canals |
Evangel University sent 7 business students led by Dr. Mark Maynard to Guatemala Teen Challenge. They partnered with Convoy of Hope and assisted the local Teen Challenge in Guatemala City with carpentry, the computer lab, and gardening and also had several hours of interviews on TC. They worked with Convoy of Hope in food distribution and ministry to the needy which was a huge blessing for several local churches and for community awareness for Teen Challenge Guatemala. Norbert and I gave a one-day "intensive" TC Director's training in Reading, PA. to Roger and Sharon Holland, AG missionaries who will leave soon for Santa Cruz, Bolivia where they will focus on identifying national leadership for TC and opening a TC ministry. Evangelism continues in the "canals," of Santa Cruz. Rick Souza, Global Teen Challenge's Strategic planning rep., graciously spent a day with Norbert and me to help us develop a strategic plan for LAC. Jamaica Teen Challenge graduated 16 students and Anthony Richards was invited to Quebec to present the need for help with agricultural machinery and plants to develop their new 15-acre property. God is doing good things! Duane Henders

Executive Leaders complete first week Intensive Training
On March 22-26, Executive Directors and other senior leaders from Teen Challenge attended the first intensive training to kick off the Emerging Leaders Level III training in Columbus, GA. The 37 participants came from the USA, Canada, Ethiopia, and Kyrgyzstan.
This is the first of 4 one week intensive training sessions, each will be about 6 months apart. This whole ELP Level III training series is designed to be completed in a two year period. In the six months between each intensive training, participants will be working through a series of trainings related to the same major topics covered in the one week intensive. This distance learning component to ELP III includes weekly posts on the internet with the other participants in the ELP training program. Here are some of the comments from those who participated in the one week intensive training in March. -- This was outstanding. -- This training reignited my vision for the future. -- I am a new leader and this training helped me realize the needs of Teen Challenge and how I can walk in the expectations of TC and the Lord. -- This will change the way I strategically train, communicate and manage my area of leadership responsibility. -- I had 3 days of training when I first began as a TC director. I wish I could have had this training when I first started. If you would like more information on participating in this ELP III training, you can join up with the next intensive training scheduled for October 1-15, 2010, in Columbus, GA. Global Internships Summer trips planned
This summer the Global Internships team will be taking short term trips with Teen Challenge centers and churches to serve at Teen Challenges in Jamaica, Swaziland, and Czech Republic. If you're interested in taking your Teen Challenge center or church on a trip contact Mike Woods at mwoods@globaltc.org.
In February the Global Internships team launched www.withlovemovement.com in an effort to continue to tell the story of Teen Challenge in new and creative ways- we've experienced great success in just our first couple of weeks. We started www.withlovemovement.com to share the story of Teen Challenge and of lives changed with churches, youth groups, community organizations, and colleges. We kicked off with a worship event in Columbus, Georgia where we sold shirts supporting different Teen Challenge projects around the world and shared testimonies from local Teen Challenge centers. It has been a great way to raise support and awareness about what Teen Challenge is doing in the U.S.A. and around the world. We want to invite other Teen Challenge centers to be a part of it. We are offering bulk orders of our Addiction Ends With Love shirt, our most popular shirt at a severely discounted price so you can use them to raise support in your communities. For more details contact Mike McGarvey at mikem@teenchallengeusa.com Also, don't miss our Spring Sale at www.withlovemovement.com ; Support any of our projects at $30 and we'll send out our Addiction Ends With Love shirt for free!
