Is Your Inefficient Home Losing You money?
|
Green Schools and Next Step Living are proud to announce a new partnership to help Massachusetts residents protect the environment, strengthen our communities, and save money through energy efficiency and solar energy! At Next Step Living, we believe that a healthy learning environment starts at home. Now you can set an example and support Green Schools by signing up for a no-cost Home Energy Assessment through the Mass SaveŽ Home Energy Services Program sponsored by NSTAR and National Grid. This state efficiency program allows renters and homeowners to receive no-cost home assessments that identify ways to reduce energy use through improvements in lighting, insulation, and more. Eligible customers can receive instant savings measures such as efficient light bulbs at no cost, as well as generous rebates and incentives including 75%, up to $2000, off the cost of approved insulation improvements!
Next Step Living takes a whole house approach to energy services by specializing in weatherization, solar installations, window replacements, and more. While we run our business one home at a time, we realize the only way to ensure lasting change is through a widespread impact. By lowering energy usage and producing renewable energy at the residential level, we're working to reduce pollution and preserve the planet, and partnering with Green Schools supports healthy environments at school and at home.

A Letter from the President of Green Schools
| As President of Green Schools for the past two years I wanted to take a moment to let our members and followers know that I will be stepping down at the end of June. My husband will be taking a job in NYC by the end of the summer and we will be relocating to the NY/CT area. We are also expecting Baby #2 in early November. As sad as I am to be leaving Massachusetts and Green Schools these will be exciting times for my family. I have truly enjoyed and cherished my time working with Green Schools. I have met so many amazing and inspiring board members, teachers, schools and students in the last two years each of whom has made a mark on me in some way that I will not forget. I can not thank Robin Organ enough for the opportunity she has given me. I was a random teacher meeting Robin at one of her workshops three years ago and became inspired by her work that I wanted to find a way to help. Little did I know at the time that the position of President would be bestowed on me. Although I will no longer be an active board member I have decided to take on the job of the monthly newsletter so I will not be out of touch and I am happy to take on the job. Once a new President is elected for Green Schools we will be sure to share the news. Thank you for your constant support during my time as President and for your continued support as Green Schools continues to grow and make the Green Difference to more and more schools. Sincerely,
Tammy Thornton
