Leilani Münter, a Friend of Green Schools!
| We were proud to have Leilani Münter as one of our presenters at the Green Schools Summit in April.
Leilani started racing cars in 2001 and has spent the last ten years working her way up the NASCAR ranks. Leilani once worked as a photo double and stunt driver for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Her mother, a nurse, was born in Hawaii and her father, a doctor, was born in Germany. Leilani has three older sisters - Svenja, Nicolette, and Natascha. Natascha is married to Grateful Dead guitarist and singer Bob Weir - so Leilani is a bit of a hippie. She has been a vegetarian for most of her life. While attending college, Leilani was a volunteer for a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center. Leilani is left handed and has a cat named Pushkin. She is small, but tough.

Going Greener Every Day
|
Five years ago, Rachel White, Ph.D was a seasoned educator and researcher who had spent over a decade in the academic arena. She also had young children and was becoming increasingly alarmed about the environmental problems that they would inherit--problems that she was contributing to with the choices she made every day. And so Rachel set out to change the way she was living. Initially a reluctant passenger in the journey, Rachel's husband eventually became an enthusiastic co-pilot--so much so that he suggested that Rachel leave her teaching job in order to help other people go green! And so Greener Every Day was born.
In the ensuing years, Greener Every Day has helped scores of individuals advance their green living journeys. Through individual consultations as well as community and corporate-based education programs, Rachel provides practical advice to help people achieve their goals around personal health, financial well-being and environmental stewardship.
Because home construction provides an unparalleled opportunity to improve a home's performance and reduce its environmental impact, Greener Every Day also specializes in green home remodeling. Rachel often works directly with residential architects and builders, providing the information, tools and support they need to design and build homes that use natural resources efficiently, support occupant health, and promote a sustainable future.

Project Have Hope is Seeking to Partner with Organizations and Schools
|
Project Have Hope is seeking to partner with organizations and schools to provide them with the ability to fundraise while making a difference for families in Uganda.
Project Have Hope works with female artisans in the Acholi Quarter of Uganda to help them transform their lives and the lives of their families by providing the tools and resources needed to increase their self-sufficiency. These artisans handcraft jewelry from recycled paper, glass and coins. A member of the Fair Trade Federation and a certified 501(c) 3 non-profit, Project Have Hope proudly promotes these talented artisans and you can too. By choosing to partner with us, your organization earns 30% of all sales - a higher percentage than most fundraising opportunities, and with double the impact. The process is simple - visit www.projecthavehope.org to download a fundraising application. You select the size of your fundraiser according to your financial goals, and we will send you a kit with the jewelry and promotional materials. Our items range in price from $5 to $20. Visit our website to view a full collection of products available to sell.
Why should your School partner with Project Have Hope? Your school can achieve its fundraising goals by selling beautiful hand-crafted jewelry made from recycled paper that retails for $5 to $20, while also supporting a community of women and children in Uganda. This approach allows you to maximize your social impact and create an international connection with a community critically in need. Your group could throw a jewelry party or sell this beautiful jewelry at sporting events, outside the cafeteria during lunch, at holiday craft fairs, the opportunities are limitless.
