Try the Catalog Canceling Challenge at Your School
| |
Try this...
Over 8,000 kids in 21 states have so far! It's great for 3-5th graders who are tasked with simply calling and canceling as many unwanted sales catalogs as they can! It's a great way to save trees, water, energy, and our climate. It also cleans out your mailbox! See www.CatalogCancelingChallenge.com for details.
BAGtheBOOK.org was just started as a way for classrooms to learn about the phone book problem in our country, to gauge public opinion in your town, and to find some ways to do something about it. Going a step further than just canceling individual books, this project guides a class in writing letters to local government leaders asking them to consider creating an "opt-in registry" or law to help slow down the flow of these big, yellow bricks. Great for 5th grade and up.
