Dear Friends:

Thanks to everyone who came to hear Maria Gutierrez for the Lakota Sacred Pipe Ceremony.  It was powerful!

Our next meeting will be on Sunday, February 15, 2009, 6:30PM - 9:30PM at Unity in Marin.  For more information about Unity and directions, see below.  Please remember to bring snacks.  Snacks and Networking start at 6:30PM, and the meeting will begin at 7:00PM.

We are pleased to present Mike Duvall, a multi-talented individual who has been a welcome presence at RAHM meetings!  Mike's topic is "Feeling Is Healing - Coming To Your Senses."  Here is what Mike has to say:

The brain is the first organ to form in the mother's womb.  All other aspects of the body emerge from the brain.  The brain has inherent knowledge of the body.

By feeling and harmonizing the breath with the heart, the nervous system sends strong messages to the brain about what needs to be adjusted in the body.  By feeling the impulses from the nervous system, the brain turns from just thinking to actually feeling these impulses.  The brain, with its inherent knowing of the body, can then bring the body into harmony with the world around it and the universe.

In tonight's program, you will learn how to use your breath to go deep within, how this affects your ego, and how to ground yourself with your senses to establish perfect harmony.  I will also place this in a greater context, including:

1.  A discussion about the Divinity of Nature.

2.  An anecdote (the "Sylvia" story) about my direct experience with gnomes, a troll, a sylph, and the healing power of animals.

3.  My contact with the Great Elk Spirit.  I will share his prayer with you, and do a healing demonstration with a sacred drum.

Mike Duvall is a storyteller, comedian, artist, toymaker, and shaman.  His spiritual journey began during the mid 1960's, studying spiritualism with the Reverends Johanna Ruhnau and Lily Butterfield in Santa Barbara.  Under the guidance of these two elderly psychics and healers, he soon began communicating with spirit guides, nature beings, yogis and rishis from the spirit world.  During this time he encountered the true Self for a second time.  To support himself, Mike began a career in the advertising business as an art director, which lasted 35 years.  His spiritual journey continued, enhanced by the energy of his job.  Mike is an ardent student of the Upanishads.  He has also had the great good fortune of spending time with Wallace Black Elk.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

About RAHM

RAHM Metaphysical Exploration Group is a forum for people to share what they have learned in their lives, their classes, workshops, degree programs, books and other media.  We may also invite speakers who are experts in their field.

Rahm in Hebrew and Arabic signifies "The merciful or compassionate one."  It signifies the womb as the seat of compassion.  Rahm also means "high" or "lofty" in Hebrew.  In Bavarian, Rahm means Cream - ie.) The best people or things in a group - "cream of the crop."  In a psychic reading received in 1971, Rahm was given as one of Steve's spirit guides.  As an acronym, RAHM can stand for many things, including "Reading And Healing Marin" and "Realization And Holistic Metaphysics."

The purpose of RAHM is practical, with an emphasis on healing, guidance, therapy, and personal growth.  It's not just a "lecture" group but is also experiential.  Topics are based on the presenter's own background and skills - or can be something the presenter would like to learn more about.  There is no better way to learn something than to teach it!

The RAHM Metaphysical Exploration Group meets monthly, every 3rd or 4th Sunday at 6:30PM - 9:30PM, at Unity In Marin.  It is important to be on time!  For directions, see below.

There will be short breaks and light snacks - please bring something to share.  A "Love Offering" is requested of RAHM participants.  In some exercises, we may be lying on the floor.  So bring pillows if you can, and dress comfortably.

Unity in Marin

Unity is a "New Thought" Church in Novato.  Directions to Unity are given at the end of this announcement.  RAHM meetings are now held at Unity in Marin.  As Unity members, Adriana and Steve have established RAHM as an ongoing group at the church.  RAHM is sponsored by the Unity education ministry.  We strongly encourage participants to explore all that Unity has to offer.

Unity believes in the principle of prosperity.  In that light, we ask for a voluntary Love Offering (donation) from participants.  It is not mandatory and can be any amount.  Below is a section that describes the purpose of the Love Offering.

Love Offerings

This is the Unity creed on Love Offerings:

"We are grateful to raise our consciousness in truth teachings.  The love offering is our exchange of energy in gratitude for what we receive.  The love offerings are donated to Unity in Marin.  Our love offerings are our investment in ourselves.  By practicing the spiritual truths of prosperity in giving and receiving, we open the channels of abundance so money flows freely to and from us.  As with all Unity events, love offerings of any amount are joyfully accepted.  Baskets are available for cash or check.  Thank You, God, for all the good in our lives, which we gratefully receive and lovingly give."
