RAHM Sunday July 26: Urantia -- Evolution of the Soul,The Soul of Evolution

LECTURE:
Purported to be a modern revelation, The Urantia Book comes across at first glance as a futuristic encyclopedia of spirituality, cosmology, evolution, and metaphysics. Its 2,097 pages of teachings are indeed vast in scope, and this lecture will introduce its:
� inspiring and unique depiction of the human soul and spirit
� advanced concepts in the philosophy of religion and spirituality
� extensive information on the survival of the soul and life after death
� "revealed" history of our planet-whose name is "Urantia"

But this is not all: Participants will learn how and why this mysterious text frames all of this in a multidimensional, scientific cosmology suitable for the age of quantum physics. Some regard The Urantia Book as a postmodern Bible, and since its publication in 1955, the book has sold over 600,000 copies in English and has been translated into eleven languages. In addition, much like A Course in Miracles, the Urantia material updates and expands the teachings of Jesus. Followers of Jesus are especially attracted by the book's magnificent detail on his life, and its clearer, deeper, and more philosophical presentation of Jesus's gospel. Its seven hundred page narration of the life of Jesus - which will be briefly summarized - enhances our concept of the love of God, our heavenly Father and Mother, and greatly augments our understanding of the soul.

WORKSHOP:
This introduction by a veteran student of the Urantia revelation will focus especially on the nature and purpose of the human soul - how our personal soul actually grows through our moral choices, and how its growth throughout our eternal life actually is the secret of the evolution of the universe itself. Students will learn how to develop soul awareness, and will acquire an understanding of three practical techniques for accelerating the evolution of their soul - thereby contributing to the evolution of the planet and the universe itself.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Byron Belitsos is a writer, journalist, editor, the owner of Origin Press (originpress.com) - an award-winning book publishing company - and the co-author and publisher of two previous books about The Urantia Book. Byron has been a student of The Urantia Book for 35 years, and has written, spoken, and given workshops worldwide on its teachings. Belitsos received a B.A. (Honors) in intellectual history from the University of Chicago in 1977, and studied poetry with Allen Ginsberg at Naropa Institute. His graduate studies have embraced history, literature, religious studies, and theology at University of California and California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Belitsos was also an inaugural member of Ken Wilber's Integral Institute. He resides in Fairfax.
