Ave Maria Catholic School Christmas Program

Friday, December 9

A note from Mrs. Marsden...

The Ave Maria Christmas Pageant will be held Friday, December, in  the church sanctuary. There will be two performances, one at 1:15 and one at 3:30. Mrs. Loiselle is allowing the children to wear their concert attire to school that day so they will not need to change. As in past years, the attire is any combination of black and white (black dress shoes) with accents of green or red if they choose. No t-shirts, please. Please have students bring their gym shoes if they have P.E. on Friday.

The 3:30 performance will begin at the completion of middle school/preschool carline. The K-5 students will wait in their classrooms at the end of the school day and walk to the church with their  teachers. Due to the number of students performing this year, pickup will have to be in their classrooms following the pageant.

Mrs. Loiselle and I received many favorable comments last year regarding the after  school performance. Many of our students are involved in other activities in the evening. Since this is a mandatory performance for my students, I thought the 3:30 time slot would be better. Hope to see you on the 9th. Should you have any questions, please email me.

Very Special Guest Author Visits AMCS

I am very delighted to announce we will have a guest author visit Ave Maria next week. His name is Father Brian Morrow, author of The Tale of Moresy Bug & Benjamin Getts.  I have known Father Morrow for many years. His book is based on his Advent homily; The Moresy Bug, which he has shared with families throughout Colorado and the southwest for over 20 years. My children who are now ages 22 and 27 still recall this as one of their favorite Christmas Mass traditions as growing up.

Copies of his book, which he will personally autograph, are available for purchase while he is here visiting. Father Brian is VERY generously DONATING ALL THE BOOKS AND PROCEEDS, sold at Ave Maria, towards our Fine Arts program. But it doesn't stop there, Father Brian would like to challenge someone in our community to match his donation! Any takers???

Brag Corner

Congratulations to seventh grader, Hayden Courier, for being selected to play in the 2012 Youth All-American Football Game in San Antonio, Texas! Way to go Hayden!

First grader Maddie Miley showed her French Bulldog Bennie at the UKC show over the weekend. She took 2nd place both times in the ring and received several compliments on her excellent sportsmanship.

Olivia Baptiste, a third grader, will be competing in the Colorado State Level 5 Gymnastics meet on Sunday December 11th, at 1:00 pm.  The meet will be held at Denver School of Gymnastics (DSG) located at 5840 Lamar Street in Arvada, Colorado 80003.  Olivia has taken 1st place in the all around at her last two meets, and she has worked very hard all season to continue improving. She took 4th in the all-around at the Level 4 State Championship last year and her goal is to "make the podium" - (top three) this year in Level 5  Regardless of the results, we are very proud of her and would like to invite you to come out and see her in her final meet of the season or to wish her luck if you see her before then.
