'Grandfathered' Plans Spared Some Reform Mandates
Understanding and interpreting the sweeping 2010 health care reform law should include an understanding of the "grandfathering" provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law on March 23, 2010, as amended one week later by the Health Care & Education Affordability Reconciliation Act. | Health Care Reform Includes Form W-2 Reporting Requirement
Health care reform requires employers to calculate and report the aggregate cost of applicable employer-sponsored health insurance coverage on employees' Form W-2s. Although the new rule applies for employees' tax years beginning after Dec. 31, 2010, payroll systems need to be updated for this change by January 2011. This deadline is imposed because employees are entitled to request their Form W-2s early if they terminate employment during the year. Click here to read the rest of the article. |

Healthy Snack Option
Tempted to hit the vending machine to overcome the 3:00 slump? STOP! Drink water first! Many times dehydration can be mistaken for hunger. By the afternoon, many people have not had a sufficient amount of water for the day and are dehydrated. After drinking 8 ounces of water, if you're still feeling the urge to eat, pass up the vending machine and incorporate some healthy, satisfying snacks into your afternoon. Adding more fiber to your diet will help you feel fuller, longer. Try: · Berries · Slice of bread with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter · Mixed nuts · Air popped popcorn · Apple with walnuts or peanut butter Keep these and other healthy snacks handy to help curb your afternoon appetite.
Also included in this issue, DESK STRETCH and a recipe for Fruit Salad with Lime Yogurt. |
