The New Year always brings with it the opportunity to create fresh imaginative ideas. At MK Designs, sparkle and glitter is our main ingredient and we are off to a roaring start! Here is a sneak preview of what we have planned for 2012.

Greetings!
The gemstone Garnet is actually a group of silicate minerals that occurs in every color except blue. Garnet worn as jewelry dates back to 3,000 BC, when it was discovered in a man's grave as beads in a necklace.

 The mint green Garnet found in Merelani is a grossular variety that is quite rare. Our 2.05 carat trillion cut Merelani Garnet has gorgeous luster and incredible brilliance! We put her in a gracefully feminine 14k white gold design, which has a lot of fluid movement. A large 3.2mm diamond and a sprinkling of 1.7mm Diamonds add even more sparkle. As a finishing touch, we dangled a 4mm pale green Oregon Sunstone. Deliciously Divine.

 Topaz is another gemstone group that occurs in many colors. Our 6.56 carat untreated emerald cut gem is a delicate pink with a blush of peach. A trillion cut Tanzanite sits on either side in a charming hand crafted 14k white gold setting. The vibrant purplish blue color of the Tanzanite adds drama to a sublimely pretty ring.
Zircon is a real favorite at MK Designs. The fire, the brilliance, the depth of color and the sheer beauty continue to take our breath away. Our last few designs featured the marvelous honeysuckle and raspberry hues, which are spectacular.

 For this creation, we found an untreated green 5.42 carat brilliant cut gem that is both dynamic and spirited. She is contemporary in feel, so an asymmetrical design jumped onto the pages of my sketchbook. As always, Diamonds add the wow factor and the result is a chic ring with a lot of poise and charm.

 Nothing is as alluring as a Pearl and the Tahitian Pearls bring an exotic beauty all their own. We added a 3mm green Diamond to a 10mm blackish green Tahitian Pearl and a classically stylish pair of earrings emerged.
