Try the Tree Browser

Trees are investments that add value, interest, texture, shade and animal habitat to your landscape. But (as is the case with all plants) if you put the wrong tree in the wrong place it is doomed from the start. The number of choices can be a little overwhelming. What shape will work best? How hardy does it need to be? Do you want it primarily for shade or spectacular fall color?

USU Extension's online Tree Browser is a great tool to help you select the right tree for your landscape. Just adjust the settings for the characteristics you're looking for in a tree and the Tree Browser gives you a list of options, complete with photographs and information about each one. Try it out at Treebrowser.org .

Oh Baby!

The USU Botanical Center really comes to life May 11 and 12 with our first ever Baby Animal Days celebration. Meet lambs, kids, llamas, rabbits, chicks, ducklings and piglets, all being raised by local 4-H members. There will be crafts to make, sheep shearing demonstrations, horseback rides, a putting green, a climbing wall and miniature train rides. Visit our Master Gardeners to get answers to your gardening questions and learn about upcoming classes for children and adults. The event raises funds for Davis County 4-H and garden development at the USU Botanical Center.

Plan to join us Friday, May 11th from 4-8 p.m. or

Saturday May 12 from  10 a.m.-6 p.m.
