Basic Pruning Tips

• Remove all dead, diseased or broken branches.
• Remove all suckers and water sprouts.  Suckers grow from the base of the tree.  Water sprouts are succulent growth from the previous year.
• For fruit trees, research to understand where the fruit will grow and prune the remaining branches.
• Pruning might be intimidating.  But do it.  Even if it's not the best job, it will help your trees grow better.
