The Friends of the Garden Wildflower Tour is here. On Friday, July 16, the Wildflower Tour heads to Utah Valley to explore the exciting plants of Mount Timpanogos. Mount Timpanogos is the second highest mountain in Utah's Wasatch Range, rising to an elevation of 11,749. Designated as a Wilderness Area in 1984, the mountain offers a variety of wondrous wildflowers, such as, penstemon, Indian paintbrush, columbine, buckwheat, lupine, larkspur, and geranium. Following the tour, we will travel to Thanksgiving Point Gardens for lunch and a guided tour of the Garden.

Canning the Season
Hold onto the harvest. Utah State University Extension agent, Teresa Hunsaker,
demonstrates favorite salsas and other tomato recipes. It's free, hands on
instruction, so come ready to get cooking.

Garden Fair
The 2010 Garden Fair celebrates six years at the Utah Botanical Center. The
annual event is scheduled for Saturday, August 21, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The plant sale, which features beautiful and interesting plants well suited for
Utah landscapes, is located next to the Rasmussen Teaching Garden at the Greenhouse Complex (click for map). UBC staff
members will be available to answer questions and offer advice on plant
selections.
