USU Cooperative Extension Professor Volunteers in Republic of Georgia 
 
Justen Smith, Utah State University Cooperative Extension agriculture/  4-H agent for Davis County, recently returned from a volunteer assignment to the Republic of Georgia, where he worked to address the shortage of agricultural machinery, a problem that limits production as well as long-term growth in Georgia's agricultural sector.  

Home Energy Website Launched on eXtension 

Utah State University Cooperative Extension is one of more than 70 land-grant universities linked to the new Home Energy website launched recently by the nationwide Cooperative Extension System.

The eXtension Home Energy website creates an interactive learning environment with links for new homes, existing homes and alternative energy systems.

2010 UEAFCS Winners Announced

Congratulations to the  2010 Utah Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences award winners.  First place awards have been submitted for the regional and national award categories for the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
 
USU Extension 4-H Project Recharges Youth 

The Recharge Fun, Food and Fitness Project has so far helped 370 Utah youths become more knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness. The project is part of Utah State University's Extension 4-H Teens Reaching Youth (TRY) program.

USU Extension 4-H Robotics Team Competes at Nationals
Mix hundreds of remote control robots, soccer, obstacle courses, a rock concert and cheerleaders, and you have the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championships, April 15-17 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
 
Salt Lake County's 4-H robotics team, 3230 Prototype X, placed 39th at the national championships this year by winning five out of ten rounds.
