Good afternoon, We are starting the tasting this evening with the 2008 Fichet Bourgogne Blanc from Mersault and believe you me, Jean-Philippe Fichet really knows how to make great juice! He has invested heavily in his new premises on the outskirts of Meursault and all of his white Burgundy wines are absolutely delicious - all that you want from a Côte d'Or white. Stoney nose; spicy, lively, and concentrated, this wine has deliciously tangy apple and apricot fruit flavors; serious and long. Great value. Buy the bottle: $32.99, Case: $336.50, & $28.05 p/b as part of a mixed case.
Next, we will taste the 2008 Cristom Mount Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir from the Willamette. Bright medium red, with smoky red currant along with cherry aromas. We've also got scents of dried rose and spice cake. Deeper dark berry flavors are firmed by silky tannins that become sweeter with air. This wine shows very good power on the focused dark berry-flavored finish. "This is the best version of this bottling I can recall," said Winemaker Steve Doerner. He used 50% whole clusters across the board in 2008. Ya' gotta' love it!
By the bottle: $34.99, Case: $356.90, & $29.74 p/b as part of a mixed case. Last, but not least, we are heading to Napa for the 2007 Honig Cabernet Sauvignon; 92 points from Wine Spectator: "Marked by herb, dill, cedar, sage and dried currant flavors. The wine is full-bodied and well structured, both supple and tight at points, showing its subtle tannic strength on the finish. Drink now through 2017." Lip smackin' good! Come give it a try. There's a reason why Cab is King!
By the bottle: $39.99, Case: $407.90, $33.99 p/b as part of a mixed case.
For Saturday, we are sticking to it! Come pick a bottle to taste. We'll open it up just for you! The customer gets to decide which bottle to taste. Please, take us up on this one!
