Thank Goodness Hurricane Earl won't be affecting our little haven.  The weather is beautiful, and the heat has subsided!  We have PERFECT  Labor day wines. They are all $15.99 a bottle, $163.10 a case, and  $13.59  as part of a mixed case. They are all of course delicious. Come on by and sip what your favorite wine shoppe has to offer.

We are going to start the tasting with a Rose´ from Carneros; the 2009 Etude Rose´ of Pinot Noir. Wow! At $15.99 it's a steal. My salesman T.J. saw the price-drop and sent over a few cases. We were thrilled!   This salmon pink Rosé of Pinot Noir offers vibrant aromas of fresh frambois strawberries, red cherries and sweet blood oranges. Flavors of strawberry rhubarb and cherry persist on the palate and combine with a pleasing note of minerality. The perfectly-balanced acidity makes this wine a wonderful complement to many foods and al fresco dining.
For our second in this series, we we will be sipping the 2009 Heron, a Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley. I gave it a whirl and couldn't believe the freshness, the flavor and the fruit.    Crisp, clean, vibrant citrus notes with layers of grapefruit, passionfruit and minerality give it a great deal of complexity. No oak-fresh, lively fruit and great acid. 

For the red of the evening, we will be enjoying a Merlot from Monterey.  Wente's 2007 Sandstone Merlot. The 2007 vintage of Merlot showcases aromas and flavors of ripe plum and black cherry, accented by hints of brown sugar and spice.  The grapes are estate grown in the Wente family's sustainably farmed vineyards in Arroyo Seco, Monterey.  De-licious!
