Greetings!
There is no doubt March has arrived like a lion. The proverb may have its roots with the positioning of the constellations Leo and Aries, but we hope it holds true to the weather this year and March goes out like a lamb.
As we are reminded this week that March is still a part of Winter and with the promise of Spring around the corner, we have selected a few wines for you to try that blend the two seasons.

Daniel et Martine Barraud Saint-Véran "En Creche"
$19.99 a bottle, $203.88 for a case, or $16.99 a bottle as part of a mixed case
We are constantly looking for white Burgundies that deliver value and here is one fantastic find! Barraud allows each vineyard plot to ripen fully, picking the grapes only when they have reached optimum ripeness. Each parcel is then vinified and bottled individually, thus reflecting the terroir of each particular site. This is a great example of what Saint-Véran has to offer. Burghound (the industry's authority on all Burgundy) awarded the wine 89 points and said, "Here the aromatic profile is a bit more elegant with exotic fruit aromas cut with citrus and acacia blossom that merge into detailed, minerally and nicely voluminous flavors that exude a fine sense of underlying energy on the harmonious and somewhat dryer finish."
I think this is a run-on sentence, but I can't play with the quote. This is a delicious Chardonnay and we know you will find it as tasty and satisfying as we did.

Potel-Aviron Moulin a Vent Vieilles Vignes 2005

Just now ready to drink! What a wonderful Cru Beaujolais. This is a big wine. Lot's of cassis and currants with floral and earthy notes that make this wine great for food. It is elegant and still has a long finish. This is one to enjoy now and over the next few years. It's balanced structure has given it the ability to age for a few more years. This is not your grandmother's Beaujolais!

In honor of March coming in like a Lion, we feature this delicious Pinot Noir from Roar. This is a rich Pinot Noir filled with lots of dried berries and herbal notes. It is wonderful now and can be enjoyed over the next few years.
