Whew! What a year .... As I sit here in front of my computer so many emotions are running through my mind. 2010 was a pivotal year for us. We had some of our biggest highs and our lowest lows.
I find myself looking at the screen and not quite knowing what to write...... Me speechless, now that's a first!! I could write 5 pages on my newsletter just about the people who have helped us this year, but if I start writing names I know I will miss someone...I will try anyway....From my employees who are steadfast in their commitment to deliver great food and exceptional service, our landlord who graciously renegotiated our lease, our purveyors who worked with us all year long, and YOU, the thousands of people who receive this newsletter for your continued support and kindness to our mission here in Westfield. And to my family for supporting me and loving me for all those
nights and weekends when I was gone...THANK YOU!
A few things I am proud of: We were honored by the Indianapolis Monthly as one of Indy's top 22 restaurants; I was named Westfield's Citizen of the year by the Chamber of Commerce; we were recognized as one of the Best Brunches by the Indianapolis Monthly; we were on the cover of the Carmel City Guide; we are now on opentable.com; and we have a facebook and twitter account; we started a new family tradition with our Christmas Eve Buffet; we volunteer our time to help as many causes here in Westfield and throughout Hamilton County as we can; and, we have successfully made it through a very, very rough year.
Good ThingsKim our restaurant manager had an idea. She thought I should run a
"Dear Keltie" column where you, the reader, write in a question. This could be about a restaurant experience, an etiquette question, help with a recipe, or something about your wedding invitations. The questions might look like this:
Dear Keltie, my husband has been craving your Reuben sandwich and wanted to have lunch at your restaurant. The problem was we did not have a lot of time and decided to go somewhere else. Is it possible to get quick service at a restaurant that has waiters? -Craving KeltiesDear Craving Kelties, If you find yourself at a full service restaurant and only have a short time then inform your server right away about your situation. Movie, game, work etc.... Not only can the server help expedite your service, but they can recommend items that have a shorter cook time and can get you on your way quicker while still enjoying the ambience and service that you were looking for. Also paying your check early will ensure your early stress free experience.
Happy Dining! So what are your questions? I'm all ears and anxious to help with your dining and hospitality predicaments.
