Spring is Right Around the Corner!

Greetings!

Kelties Restaurant & Catering
My goodness, I'm so thankful to see the sun!!  It has been a long hard winter, and I think many small businesses similar to mine would say the same thing.  Certainly the time of year, blizzards and the economy have not helped.

So, as spring starts to unfold we look forward to new relationships and new visitors and your comments on how we can be better.  We are however,  going to close on Wednesday nights until late spring in order to continue our staff training, market our facility for private social and business events and offer cooking and manners classes.

We recently offered our second healthy eating class.  We partnered with Clarian North Medical and offered tips when dining out, things to look for and questions to ask in order to eat healthier.  We were honored to have the Mayor of Westfield in attendance who shared with us his suggestions on healthy eating.  It was a fun night and we hope to do it again soon.

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in someone's life?  I would like to introduce you to the newest opportunity to get involved and make a difference in a child's life.  It is called the Westfield Youth Assistance Program.  The program spearheaded by the Mayor of Westfield, Judge Steve Nation and many other spectacular people here in Westfield have put together a program to help our at risk youth.  If you or someone you know would like to get involved please send your information or questions to jeanine@lollutheran.org.

Yes, golfing ...we are excited about our third season at Wood Wind Golf, located at 2302 W. 161st and Township Line Road in Westfield.  Under the Leadership of Doc O'Neal and Golf Pro Scott Heger it is sure to be a great year.  So, as the weather breaks come see us for some great golf and great food.

Meeting Others
Recently I was asked to judge a high school competition. When I arrived I was asked to go to a certain table and wait for my instruction.  Approaching the table there were 3 adults sitting at the table.  None acknowledged my arrival.  If this happens to you, that is fine.. I think it is typical.  Your job if you were sitting would be to stand and welcome them with a great handshake and an introduction.  Try to walk around to greet them instead of shake over the table or other impediment.  So when I observed this I quickly made my way around the table introducing myself and shaking everyone's hands.  As new people arrived I stood and greeted them.  It is hard to meet people on some levels.  But, whether you are in a social or business situation it will always help start conversations if you make the people feel welcome with a great handshake and a friendly hello it will certainly help things along.
