Etiquette Tip of the Month
Use your magic words.
As I always tell my elementary aged
classes, just because you use the magic words doesn't mean you will always
get your own way. But, it is how we act when we don't get our way that
set us apart from others. Here are a few of my favorites.
Please, thank you, your welcome, my
pleasure, after you, how may I help you, and my all time favorite:, "May
I please".
Using these words when talking to
family members, and business associates will set you apart. When you
are at a counter ordering, at a sit down restaurant or simply
talking to your family please try and avoid these terms: Give me, I want, I'll
take, Bring me. These words do not foster good will, they only put people
down. Have fun trying your new kind words on your friends and associates.

Baking Tip of the Month
Tips for Frosting a Cake Make sure cake has completely cooled before you begin frosting. Lightly brush any crumbs with your hand or a pastry brush. Frost your cake with a thin layer of frosting then place in the refrigerator until the frosting has set. By adding this simple step this will allow the heavier second layer of frosting to be applied quicker and crumb free.
