Tomato Basil Soup Recipe

Tomato Basil Soup

Serves approx 10

Using equal amounts of Fresh Tomatoes and Tomato Sauce 4-5 cups of each

Saute:
Chopped Yellow Onions 1 cup
Chopped Celery 1 cup
Chop Fresh Basil  3 cups

Melt the butter in a large sauce pan, then add onion, and basil

After onions are translucent add ½ cup of sugar and cook for about 5 minutes
(sugar is optional), however, it does add a sweeter richer end to the taste

Add 2 tablespoons chicken base (or 2 cups chicken stock)

And 2 cups water

Then add all tomato products

Simmer on Stove for about 15-30 minutes.

Just prior to serving add 1 cup sour cream and puree

Salt pepper and garlic salt to taste

Enjoy!
