In July's edition of Red Beans & Rice, we will revisit the Social Impact Exchange Conference held in June focusing on scaling nonprofits.  In his latest SSIR blog, John has a high level discussion about scaling and the real need to primarily retrofit nonprofits to bolster their efforts to be more effective, regardless of the size or organizational stage.

The 2011 funding reports tell us that we need to focus on individual giving as it increased by 3.9% to $218 billion in 2011; for corporate and foundation approaches, the key is measuring and communicating our impressive impact and how it precisely aligns with the donor's mission and/or adds to their bottom line.  Check out the upcoming webinar on how to attract Corporate sponsors on Thursday, August 9, from 2:00-3:00pm EST.

Each generation, from Boomers and GenX, to the Millenials, have unique philanthropic motivations and bring something different to the industry.  As we read about these different views and behaviors, we discover how to better work together to achieve results and how to approach them as donors and volunteers.

Keep doing more with less and most of all, do it together. Thanks for reading - enjoy and share!
