SEASONS
Food for Thought Here in the Northern Hemisphere, it is Winter. Short days, long, dark nights with a specific quietness. It is the end of the year, the season of celebrations and ceremonies all over the world: Eid, Hannukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, and many others. The Christian Christmas celebration time itself is taken in part from even older ways, old winter rituals, old times. Some of the familiar smells and plants of the season have long histories of use at this time: holly, evergreens, mistletoe, frankincense, myrrh. Their traditional meanings often have to do with rebirth. The other thing shared in all traditions is that this is a time for peace, reflection, understanding, and love. The Dalai Lama was asked in a recent interview what an individual could do to relieve suffering in the world. "Smile", he said, after a pause. This indeed is food for thought, not just at the holiday season, but all the time. The small, nice thing you do for someone, the time you don't make a sharp remark, may be the time that changes a great deal for that person. The plants of winter, the evergreens and dark berries and roots, as ever, are available to help us remember what we are doing! Juniper is a wonderfully cleansing and renewing essential oil, perfect for baths after a long day (of refraining from sharp remarks!). Cypress oil is another excellent oil any time, but very much so around the holidays. Beloved plant of Venus, it helps relieve sad memories of the past. This helps us enjoy the NOW, which of course is really where we are. So, on Wrinkle Cream, on Elixir! On Love Potion No. 9, and Joint and Knee Pain in case of a game of twister! Sending you all very best wishes for happy and peaceful holidays, and a good 2009!

NEW PRODUCT and boy are we excited about it.
I made a new cream!!! In fact it is so new it may not even have proper labels if my label person doesn't get over the flu! However, it is a great way to keep your skin moisturized and your self happy. It has some really unusual ingredients, like planetary elixirs, and an essence made from the nectar in grape vines, in the normal all organic base. This cream seems to really help keep one's mood in balance, with the plus level on the upside! The first few days I tried it out, I kept wondering why I was in such a good mood. We call it COSMIC CREAM, and for now it is only available to readers of this newsletter. Really. It is scented with lemon and bergamot, uplifting and gentle, and to try it out, just buy yourself a Gift Certificate for $22.00, indicating it is for Cosmic Cream. Believe me--there is nothing out there like this cream, even in another galaxy far, far away. After the holidays, it will go on the website (with a groovy picture) at the normal price.
