Eagle Strike Force Matching Funds Still Available in 2010
The start of spring is a perfect time for Life Scouts to select an Eagle project. For these Scouts who are interested in assisting with a flood recovery related project, matching funds are still available to assist in project development.
For units interested in service opportunities, the Eagle Strike Force funds may be used for smaller scale service needs and we have contacts who may be reached for further information.
For Life Scouts who select a flood-related Eagle service project in Linn County, an application for matching project cost funds will be needed. These funds are provided by the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Flood 2008 Fund.
In order to ensure all information provided is accurate, Life Scouts who select a flood-related Eagle project, or who would like to learn more should call the Council Service Center at (319) 862-0541 or e-mail Travis Christopher.

A Special Thank You to You!
With this the Centennial Year of Scouting, we view each and every opportunity to share the Scouting story with great excitement. From speaking at many service clubs over the last few months to visiting Pack Blue and Golds and Troop Courts of Honor, I have personally seen the impact Scouting is making right here in the Hawkeye Area Council. I am humbled by the overwhelming generosity our communities have shown toward our movement. As of today, the 2010 Friends of Scouting campaign is nearing 50% of overall goal. What makes this even more notable is that most campaigns formally kicked off a little over one month ago. Thank you...two little words that mean so much...for supporting Scouting and telling our community how important an investment like this can yield results for years to come. If you have questions about our 2010 budget, fiscal management or Friends of Scouting, please do not hesitate to email or call me personally. I can be mailed by clicking on this highlighted link.
All the best,
Travis Christopher
