100th Anniversary Is Here!
, we thank you for your support! Scouting has made it! The 100th Anniversary date has been achieved! February 8, 1910 is a major date in the history of our great country. February 8, 2010 will be remembered as the Centennial but more importantly it will be reflected as a time to teach our children and instill in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law!

Old Capitol Valley Holds Winter Camporee!
To kick off our Centennial week, congratulations to the boys in Old Capitol Valley district who attended a most successful Camporee in Coralville. Over 200 Scouts and adults took part in team building activities like broomball and first aid. Also, the Johnson County Historical Society Museum and KCJJ assisted in providing program at the event. Scouting is about outdoor adventures: many at the Camporee slept out in the great outdoors!
112 Eagle Scouts in the Hawkeye Area Council
On January 22nd, the Hawkeye Area Council held another fine Council Recognition Dinner! As part of the event, a "Parade of Eagle Scouts" was held highlighting the 112 Eagle Scouts who were awarded the rank in 2009. Congratulations to these young men!
