100th Anniv logo Announcing Trailblazers!

Over the past two months, the ScoutReach District Committee has done a thorough review of the mission and vision of the district. One aspect of this review was determining a new district name.  This district encompasses all at-risk programming, the Exploring and Learning for Life programs throughout Hawkeye Area Council.

The specific delivery methods utilized within Hawkeye Area Council have been reviewed and strengthened to ensure that the district is reaching outh in greatest need of the Scouting program. A total of 690 at-risk youth are currently being served in the program formerly known as ScoutReach.

The Trailblazers district will continue to provide these programs to our non-traditional units using new and improved delivery methods under the auspices of Trailblazers.

We feel that the name Trailblazers accurately encompasses and represents all three areas of service and will help to build that solid foundation for continued growth" stated District Chairman Paul Swanson.

Learning for Life and Exploring will also continue to be built and strengthened.  Learning for Life is a school based curriculum focusing on character development and Exploring is a program for 14-20 year old men and women focused on career development.
For more information on the Trailblazers District, please contact District Chairman Paul Swanson or District Commissioner Pete Rowbotham.
