100th Anniv logo Scout Night at the RoughRiders This Friday!

For any hockey fans reading, this Friday, November 6 is Scout Night at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders game versus the Green Bay Gamblers. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders will be present.
 
A portion of ticket sales will be donated back to Hawkeye Area Council, Boy Scouts of America to support leadership development and character education for 7,000 local youth.  
 
Scout Night ticket price options are:
1. $15-Red Zone
2. $11-Blue Zone
3. $9-Green Zone
4. $7 Yellow Zone
 
Deadline to order tickets is Thursday, November 5. To order tickets, call Larissa at the RoughRiders ticket office at 319-247-0340.
 

100th Anniv logoLeadership Plaza Bricks Available at Camp 

 The first 100 years of Scouting will be honored and the potential for the next 100 years and beyond will be celebrated through the new Leadership Plaza next to the Allsop Center at the Howard H. Cherry Scout Reservation.
 
Bricks cost $100 each and have inscription options in memory of or in honor of someone important to you.  Brick proceeds will become part of the Hawkeye Area Council Endowment Fund to ensure sustained support for leadership education and character development for future local Scouts.
 
"Gifts to the Leadership Plaza project at Camp strengthen the solid foundation of Scouting for generations of young leaders to come," said Aaron Randolph, Council Vice President for Endowment. "The bricks will serve as a strong symbol for future Scouts of whose shoulders they are standing on."

100th Anniv logo100th Anniversary Council Camporee Needs Volunteers

Wow!  One hundred years of Scouting is worthy of the best celebration.  That is exactly what we intend to do at the 100th Anniversary Council Camporee scheduled for September 17-19, 2010 at the Howard H. Cerry Scout Reservation.  
 
We are looking for volunteers to help plan and execute a fantastic celebration of Scouting's past and future.  Opportunities are available in entertainment, program activities, Camporee logistics, trading post, etc.  You may contact me at 319-377-3663 or jcmyers11@mchsi.com to discuss where your skills and talents may be best utilized for the 100th Anniversary Council Camporeee.
