Council 100 Years of Scouting Celebrations Officially Underway
1. 100 Years of Scouting Stories - Submit your story by Decemer 31, 2009 about anyone who helped a Scout become a better Scout to dawn.svenson@scouting.org.
3. 100 Years - Lighting the Way - Look for more information down the road on a Spring 2010 once in a lifetime opportunity to help spell out "100 Years" for a photo on the field at Kinnick Stadium.
4. Adventure Base 2010 - Hawkeye Area Council is one of just 40 host Councils across the country to have a visit from the National Mobile Scouting Museum! Look for more details on this June 2010 visit as soon as they are confirmed.
5. Council Camporee - Look for more information on this September 2010 event for all Scouting alumni, family and friends at the Howard H. Cherry Scout Reservation.

Thank You, Century of Values Team 10!
The weather could not have been more made-to-rder when the Century of Values bus pulled into the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch on Sunday, September 13. Cub Scouts were waiting. The West Branch Times covered the stop. For that full story, click here.

The Century of Values team presented a signed and numbered 100 Years of Scouting mural to Scout Executive/CEO Travis Christopher. The mural was done by Eagle Scout Bill Morrison. Morrison is an artist with Bongo Comics, which produces The Simpsons.
