Venture Crew 1024 Hosts "Thank You, Palo" Lunch
Thiry four members of Venture Crew 1024 hosted a lunch October 25 to thank the people of Palo for their support as part of the Rebuild Palo Together Visioning Day. Venture Crew 1024 is sponsored by the Palo Fire Department. According to crew members, they wanted to find a fall service project to replace the traditional Scouting for Food drive not practical to conduct in the City of Palo this year. After many years of using the Palo Community Center and receiving support from the volunteers with the Palo Fire Department, the project took on a "Thank you, Palo" theme. The luncheon was finalized following conversations with FEMA representatives working in Palo. FEMA is hosted the October 25 event. "Everyone in Palo has worked so hard all summer on flood relief for so many homes and business. The community has really pulled together. We're looking forward to giving back to the community who has given us so much," said Crew Advisor Kris Bloodgood. The program focus of Venture Crew 1024 is celebration and study of Native American life. Their website is at www.crew1024.org.
Venturing is a Boy Scouts of America program for young men and women ages 14 to 20. The program's focus is on youth-driven and controlled activities in field of interest areas, supported by crew advisors. To learn more about which Hawkeye Area Council Venture Crew might fit with the interests of you or your favorite 14 to 20 year old, contact the Council office at (319) 862-0541 or (877) HAWK-BSA.
