| As the picture says: "PLENTY"Uh, Dave....why would you be saying "plenty" when the world is suffering a recession, people are being laid off, and the economy is in the trenches?... True, yet there is plenty, and if anyone has it... we do here in America. That's because the world before recession was marked by overt waste, free-wheeling greed, and gross consumption. Lemme explain: We used to think nearby Lake Mead was suffering loss of water, because of a drought. (see the white ring around the edges?) 'Turns out, the water that filled the lake before was due to an abundance of wet years. What we call "drought" is actually the norm. After all, we here in Vegas live in a desert. So see? Although Lake Mead is diminished, it's still "full" of water. We've had to cinch-up, and we Americans are not used to it. The outcome, though painful, will be for the better.
"That's easy for you to say, Dave, you've still got a job." Yes I do, and that's not something I take for granted. And, I'm giving more to my church, the United Way and local food progams.
That's the "American" thing to do.
I'm grateful, thankful, and honored to wish you a "HAPPY THANKSGIVING"

Hasn't the 24-hour clock HEARD!!?? We have more to do, now, in the age of blogs, tweets, and podcasts!
That's why the internet gods gave us RSS. RSS (Rich Site Summary) in layman's terms, is a way to aggregate all your favorite places on the web into one page that will keep up with the changes on all your target pages. There's a much more complicated explanation, but in the spirit of KISS, web readers can save lots of time having to hop from site to site (maybe even forgetting sites), by just "subscribing" to the "feed" from each favorite page.
This is usually accomplished by clicking on the image usually in the far right side of the box where you type your URL, or web addresses.
You'll also need to decide on what "reader" you're using. Many are available for free. If you have MS Outlook, it's built-in. Or Google makes it pretty easy to sign up for their reader. From the Google homepage, just choose "more" and then "reader".
The Google I-google page does much the same thing in a more eye-appealing configuration to some people.

Pat Fraley AudioBook Workshop
On my birthday in early November, I spent the weekend with a group of highly accomplished creative voice actors I've never met. We were all at Buzzy's Studio in Los Angeles for the same reason: An intensive 2-day AudioBook training workshop. Hillary Huber, Scott Brick and Stefan Rucnicki were among the coaches, and of course, the inimitable Pat Fraley behind it all. During the course, we rec'd hands-on direction in one of Buzzy's top-notch recording studios. So we all walked away from the weekend with at least three professionally-mastered audiobook demos. Not to mention all the great information they packed into our heads about the very provincial but quickly growing audiobook industry. How to find your niche, where to begin in the search for publishers, how to audition, tips for recording at home...on and on and on. I'm all set to go, and actively pursuing opportunities in this area. If you need a long-format narrator for your project, please call, I'd love to send you a demo, and bring your story to life!
