Protect Long Term Services and Supports

As  we struggle to assure basic services and support for seniors and persons with disabilites, we need to lend our time and talent in support of those taking the lead.  A Factsheet  by The SCAN Foundation highlights the potential impact from State Budget cuts.

And here is a very important Call To Action...

Rally in Support of Social Security

Wednesday, August 17, 11:00 a.m.

One Post Street at Market.

Social Security belongs to the people who have worked hard all their lives and contributed to it.  It is our country's best retirement program, and must be maintained and strengthened for current and future beneficiaries. The Debt Ceiling discussions put Social Security on the chopping block. Now, the new "Special Commission" will develop proposals that could destroy this essential program. We need every Senator to stand up against any proposals to cut or privatize the program - especially Senator Feinstein.  Come to this rally and send a strong message:

  • Social Security does not contribute a penny to the deficit!
  • It should not be cut to reduce the deficit!
  • Strengthen Social Security, scrap the wage cap!
  • I oppose any cuts to Social Security benefits!
  • I oppose raising the retirement age!
  • I oppose lowering the cost of living adjustment!
  • Keep your hands off Social Security!

For more information, call the California Alliance for Retired Americans at 415-550-0828 or download a flyer from CARA here.  For on-going updates, join the CARA Facebook group.
