Community Living Campaign Is Going Social

Well, we have always been kinda fun and social, but we hope to take this to a whole new level using social media. These on-line tools can keep us connected to friends and family, promote events and activities, help us learn from one another, share new ideas or advocate to stop cuts to services and supports.  They can reduce isolation, regardless of age or disability, and can open up new ways to collaborate and to contribute.

Below you will find opportunities to learn more about social media - come get social with us!

All classes are on Mondays at 360 Valencia Street and are FREE.   Thanks to Valencia Gardens and Mission Housing Development Corporation  for their support.

"Facebook", "Twitter", "YouTube" "Blog", "Social Networking".  No?!   Well, that's about to change.  This entry level class offers an interactive and fun opportunity to not only learn more about these terms, but to put them to use and create your own presence on the web.  In this four week course, we will get you connected on Facebook (and show you what the fuss is all about); get you searching on YouTube and "Tweet" like a little bird...Good for beginners and computer users of all levels.  Registration Required:  Must have basic computer skills and be willing to attend all 4 sessions.  February 7, 14, 21 and 28, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Space is limited - sign up today.

Fun and Games with Computers

Judy Auda, CLC. Instructor

Do you know someone who thinks computers are too complicated? Are afraid of them? Think they will make mistakes that will break something or can't be corrected?  If so, this is the right person for our introductory class to computers: Fun and Games!  Invite them to join us on Mondays to have some fun - we will learn how to play simple games, look at videos, and search for areas of interest on Google.  We will work together in small groups of up to 4 people.   This fun class will get them ready to explore using the computer for lots of other things and for future classes.  No previous computer experience required - No registration needed, just drop in.  Mondays 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.   Help us spread the word.
