What a meaningful community gathering that reminded us all of the importance of this movement. Kudos to everyone who helped make this possible, including those who started the movement for Independent Living decades ago.  To see pictures of the event, go to our Community Living Group on Facebook Find us on Facebook .
Congratulations to Terry Schmidt and Mohammad Kheirkhah who won the Reclaiming Normal Video Contest for a short video entitled Normal Noah.  You can watch it at HERE .  For more information about the ADA Anniversary Celebration and the Reclaiming Normal visit www.itsnormal.org ..."Disability is a natural part of the human condition. People with disabilities come from all walks of life, in all colors, sizes, genders and ages. Those of us living with disabilities bring something to the table whether it is fresh perspective, political savviness, indomitable spirit, energizing presence, bold intellect, etc. We contribute to society because of who we are. Human difference and diversity enriches community. Disability is not special; it's a part of life."

Community Congress: A New Deal for San Francisco

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saturday, August 14, 9 am to 5 pm
Sunday, August 15, 9 am to 5 pm
(Times not confirmed)
University of San Francisco, McClaren Hall
The results of four summits -- HSN's New Realities conference, along with summits on economic development, Muni reform and affordable housing -- will form the basis for a citywide Community Congress to discuss, adopt and plan a comprehensive response to the assault on critical public services and the failure of the local economy to respond to the current and future needs of San Franciscans. We will join together to put forth a comprehensive, integrated set of locally actionable policies that make sense for the next decade.  For more information about the recommendations  being presented at this Community Congress, visit the Community Congress website HERE
