Funded Opportunity for Three More Organizations in California
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
tyze logo We are continuing our work to develop Tyze networks in California.  As part of the Tyze Team, we have trained 10 diverse organizations in two waves and are now looking for the final group of organizations to benefit from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funding.
Created by PLAN Institute for Caring Citizenship, Tyze is a technology-enabled service that makes it easy for social service organizations, governments and healthcare providers to work collaboratively and stay in touch with the friends and families of the people they serve.
Tyze provides secure, online, personal networks that coordinate community involvement and help to build a secure link between formal and informal care providers. Thanks in part to funding from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Tyze can donate complete, customized Tyze sites and training for 3 additional organizations in California.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA, P.L. 111-148) lays the groundwork for wide-ranging long-term care reform for seniors and adults with disabilities. The SCAN Foundation invites you to participate in a policy forum, which will focus on the new law and the long-term care elements it contains. This forum will provide stakeholders the opportunity to examine these issues with a California lens so that we may be prepared for implementation.

June 11, 2010 (Friday)

(CSAC) Conference Center

Diane Justice, Senior Program Director, National Academy for State Health Policy
June Simmons, President and CEO, Partners in Care Foundation

For more information or to watch a live webcast of this event, please visit the SCAN webiste HERE.  Or visit the site later for a recorded version.  Among the most significant advances toward improving the continuum of care is the creation of a public, voluntary, long-term care insurance program known as the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports (CLASS) program. The CLASS program will provide a cash benefit to purchase long-term care services and supports for adults facing disability at any age. Other key long-term care elements of the PPACA include the expansion of home and community-based services under Medicaid. These and other key long-term care elements will be the focus of this informative policy forum.

While you are at the SCAN website, check out the other great information provided about the impact of state budget cuts, the Long Term Care Simulator, and much more.
