50th Anniversary of Vatican II
Vatican Council II (1962-65) created a new vision of the Catholic Church for the Third Millennium. October 11 marks its 50th Anniversary. The Council was a new Pentecost that would reshape the world for centuries to come. In this five-part adult education series we will look at the theological background of the Council, some of the revolutionary teachings of the Council itself and how the wisdom and insights of the Council guide us today.  We will meet on the following Mondays from 7:15 - 8:45 p.m. in the parish hall:

October 8: The Roots of Vatican II
October 15: The People Are the Church
October 22: The Church: Human & Divine
October 29: The Church Before & After Vatican II
November 5: The Sacrament of Everyday Life

Join us for any or all of these presentations and discussions.

The directories have arrived and are arranged in alphabetical order in the vestibule. Please pick up the copy with your name on it. If you didn't get your picture taken but still would like a directory please contact Christoph.

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
At the 9:30 Mass, children in grades K-4 are dismissed after the opening prayer to listen to the readings (Word of God) in language understandable and relevant to them. In order to make this experience as age appropriate as possible, children in grades K-2 go to the hall and children in grades 3-4 go to the RRC. The children are led by parent volunteers. The readings are taken from the official Children's Lectionary. The children return to their parents at the beginning of the collection. We're currently in need of new presiders. Our current volunteers don't have children in the program any longer and have been doing this for many years. Lesson plans are provided and as such the preparation time is minimal. Please contact Christoph for more information.
