Faith Formation News

Welcome to the new year of St. Perpetua Faith Formation. It is our goal to provide the fundamentals of our faith in an engaging and supportive atmosphere for the children of our parish from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 5.

Our Faith Formation Kick Off is scheduled after the 9:30 am Mass on September 18. Please plan to join us for coffee and donuts. Classes begin Tuesday, October 4th at 3:30 and 7:00 pm OR Sunday, October 9 at 9:25 am. Registration is due as soon as possible but NO later than Sept. 19 so that we can plan our class sizes. Registration forms are available on our website.

We have many dedicated catechists but are still in need of a few more. Please consider being a part of the catechist team. Catechists do not need to have children registered in the program. Being a catechist requires approximately 3-4 hours per month and promises to be very rewarding.

Teen News
Each year teens at St. Perpetua have the opportunity to join with other teens in the community to explore faith and what it means to be a Catholic teen in today's world - from a teen's view-point and outside of a formal church setting!  St. Perpetua offers this opportunity through what the Church calls Youth Ministry.   St. Perpetua's Youth Ministry fosters a community environment for high school students that want to come together in an energized, engaged, safe, and caring environment.  Teens have the opportunity to gather in several ways.  Choose one or more that fits you:

Weekly youth group gatherings on Wednesdays evenings - starting Wednesday, September 21;

Monthly Teen Family Youth Masses - our first is Sunday, September 25 at the 11:30am liturgy;

Sacramental preparation for Confirmation (you must be at least a Sophomore in school this year), starting Sunday evening September 25 (after attending an information gathering on September 11, 13, 15, or 19 [choose one of the dates]);

Service Opportunities, Social and Fun Activities.
Check out our website or call the parish office at 283-0272 for further information and registration forms.

School News

The St. Perpetua School community gathered on August 21 for the 4th annual Back to School Mass and BBQ.  Over 300 parents, students and staff members gathered to celebrate the Eucharist and enjoy a pot luck BBQ sponsored by the Parent Association.  If the energy at this event is an indicator of things to come, it is going to be a wonderful school year!
