Retreat with Paula Huston

When is the last time you went on a retreat? Not a "corporate retreat" for your work or office, but a spiritual retreat - a time to reflect on your faith, your relationship with God, your personal growth as a Christian. St. Perpetua Parish is offering you the opportunity to take some time away from your daily work to grow in the Spirit. Join us for a one-day retreat on Saturday, February 12th from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Our retreat guide, Paula Huston, will be in the hall and her presentations will help us re-connect with the Christian virtues of prudence, temperance, humility, integrity, faith, hope and love. Participants will also look at the vices that derail our spiritual growth - laziness, boredom, depression, sexual obsession and pride. Give yourself a "spiritual spa day." You'll come away refreshed and renewed.

Free Will Offering will be accepted to cover the cost of the retreat.

Refreshments will be served, $5 Donation for Lunch

To RSVP or for further information, please contact Christoph Nauer at (925)283-0272#203

Paula's books will be available for purchase.

Winter Nights Fundraiser

Please come join us for a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, February 26, immediately following the 5:00 pm Mass to benefit the Winter Nights program. In recent years  St. Perpetua has hosted multiple working homeless families for one or two weeks during the cold winter months in our church hall. This year many churches volunteered (including some that have never had the opportunity before) so we  gave up our week to another caring church community. Nonetheless, the needs of these families for food, clothing, and basic everyday goods are ever present. We would love for your family to join us for dinner as we gather to celebrate our faith and do something positive to help others in our community. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children and will be sold after all the Masses this coming weekend  (Feb. 12/13). This event sold out last year, so if you want to secure your spot you can send a check to the parish office indicating the number of year. people attending or contact Julie Sabbadini at 957-1785. Last year we raised $2600, let's aim for $3000 this year. Thanks so much for your ongoing support!

Teen News

On Sunday, February 6 the Confirmation candidates and sponsors gathered for the Rite of Welcome and a special blessing at the 11:30 am liturgy, and then enjoyed a luncheon, followed by a mini-retreat.  While on the retreat the sponsors shared with the candidates their confirmation experience and names, as well as sharing faith, prayer, morality issues teens face today, and they shared words of inspiration.  Keep the Candidates in your prayers as they enter the next step of their preparation which has them focus more deeply on our Catholic faith and traditions.
