The Richardson Business Trade Show will be held March 1 at the Richardson Civic Center.

Social Media for Small Business: YouTube
In 2010, YouTube had passed Yahoo! as the second largest search engine on the Internet. The site receives around 3 billion hits per day and experiences 48 hours of uploaded videos per minute. In other words, YouTube is a big deal. Both large and small businesses have created YouTube channels to allow their fans to experience and engage with their brands. When used correctly, YouTube is an extremely effective social platform because of its interactivity.

Candidate forum to be held Feb. 24 - TX Senate District 8 Candidates vying for Senator Florence Shapiro's seat The Richardson Chamber of Commerce is hosting a candidate forum on Friday, Feb. 24 for the Texas State Senate District 8 Republican primary race. The forum is a part of the Chamber's ongoing efforts to keep members and the surrounding community informed. The two candidates up for election - Ken Paxton and Scott O'Grady - are hoping to fill the seat left vacant by Senator Florence Shapiro, who retired recently after nearly two decades of service in various areas of public government. KBS, JP Realty acquire Richardson office portfolio for $44.5M
KBS Strategic Opportunity REIT Inc. and JP-Richardson LLC, an affiliate of JP Realty Partners Ltd., have jointly bought a portfolio of five office buildings in Richardson for $44.5 million. The joint venture purchased the property from Equastone LLC. In anticipation of the closing, the joint venture borrowed $46.1 million from GE Capital in a four-year mortgage loan.

Fossil's new headquarters named The Dallas Morning News' Biggest Recycling Project
Fossil inc. got its start selling fashion watches that looked like vintage timepieces. So it's only fitting that the Richardson-based firm recycled a 40-year-old office complex for its head office. More than 1,100 Fossil workers have moved into the Spring Valley Road complex that was remodeled by developer KDC. The buildings previously housed Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.

Nominate a Chamber volunteer for Real Hero 2012
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Richardson Chamber. Consider nominating someone for the Richardson Real Heroes 2012 Award. The Real Hero program honors individuals who donate their time and talents to help make Richardson a better place. Nominations will be accepted online through Feb. 12. The Real Hero program is not tied directly to the Chamber.
