Election update from Public Policy Committee
During the state elections earlier this month, seven of the ten amendments were approved by Texas voters with less than 5 percent of the state's registered voters participating in the election. The Richardson Chamber of Commerce supported passed amendment 2, which would allow the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) the ability to lend up to $6 billion to fund water infrastructure projects.

Richardson Chamber visits past members in 'Take a Look at Us Now' campaign
The Richardson Chamber reached out to former members at the end of October to ask them to look at the new programs and services that have been added in recent years. Businesses that dropped their membership between 2003 and 2008 were visited by volunteers who showed them the 5-Star accreditation, WIL, Young Professionals, affinity partner savings offers and brown bag luncheons that have been added to the chamber offerings in the past three years. Earlier this month Pappy's Pet Lodge partnered with Petals and Stems Florist in Dallas to host a Halloween costume contest for pets. Pet owners were given the opportunity to send in a photo of their pets in costumes. |
