City Council Adopts Zoning Ordinance for West Spring Valley Corridor
The Richardson City Council recently adopted a new zoning ordinance that will set the course for redevelopment in the West Spring Valley Corridor. The ordinance is part of the 2010 West Spring Valley Corridor Reinvestment Strategy, which resulted from a comprehensive two-year study of the corridor area.

Chamber Board Approves 2010 Financial Audit
The Richardson Chamber of Commerce (RCC) Budget and Finance Committee as well as the RCC Board of Directors have reviewed and approved the 2010 audited financial report performed by The MB Group. The MB Group provided an unqualified opinion on the financial statements of the Chamber, and they found no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses in the Chamber's accounting processes. Per an agreement with the City of Richardson, a copy has been provided to the City to delineate how economic development funds were spent.

Experiencing True Chinese Culture a World Away from Greenville Avenue
On April 19, 65 travelers boarded a plane for the trip of a lifetime - the Richardson Chamber of Commerce's China Trip. The group spent nine days visiting various sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou. The trip was offered at a bargain price, thanks to a partnership between the Chamber and the travel company coordinating the trip.

Legislative Update: Special Session Called for 82nd Texas Legislature.
Governor Rick Perry called the 82nd Texas Legislature into a special session May 31, because lawmakers could not agree on various fiscal matters. School finance and healthcare are two of the areas that will be addressed in special session.
