THE GOLD STANDARD PROGRAM IN ACTION
The Gold Standard Program is well into its third month and everyone participating is doing well. No doubt you've seen a few of them and you have noticed the change.
There are still some questions about the program-so, what better way for you to know more than to hear from those participating? The following is a Q&A session with a few of the participants. If you have further questions about the GSP don't hesitate to ask.
To get started we'll ask and answer the first question.
Q. What is the GSP and how does it work?
A. The GSP is a structured, personalized program designed by a Personal Trainer with your goals and objectives in mind. There is an initial three-month commitment and then it's monthly afterward.
You will commit (as best you are able) to a 5 day per week workout. You will get a calendar with workouts for each day. Two personal training sessions are also included each month with unlimited follow up support.
The cost is only $297 for the first three months and then $99/month afterward.
Q. What prompted you to sign up for the GSP?
A. GSP looked like a well structured, yet affordable program... and I need that structure. The program includes help with proper diet as well.
A. As strange as it may sound for a person who is not very fond of routine, I really like the 5-day, 3-month commitment. I knew that the schedule would make me consistent at the gym. I also like the individualized workout calendar. You know exactly what you are going to do every day.
Q. What things have you been doing in the GSP?
A. There is cardio 3 times a week and strength training the other 2 days. The cardio varies from the arc machine to the bike and some treadmill with time and heart rate measurements.
A. I have added strength training on the Freemotion weight machines and ab and back exercises to end each workout. There are also 2 one-on-one sessions with a trainer. Mine have been one on nutrition and the other a training session.

Q. What results have you seen so far?
A. The most important change is that I feel better. I am proud of myself because I have had the discipline to achieve the results I have seen... I have lost about 11 pounds
A. The first month, I was just getting adjusted to coming to the gym consistently, but gained strength. The second month, I lost 4 pounds, and my strength and endurance increased greatly. I am on my third month and I feel great! My energy has increased and my muscle tone is coming back.
Q. What is the biggest change you've had to make since beginning GSP?
A. I believe the GSP has helped me push myself during my workouts and has offered sufficient diversity to keep the workouts interesting.
A. Realizing that it is OK to take the time for me and making the necessary adjustments at home.
Q. What's been the hardest thing to do on the GSP?
A. Easy answer - the Stairmaster machine!
A. At first, it was very hard to come exercise every day, especially after work. I'm used to it now. Maybe now the hardest part is adjusting my eating. That is still a work in progress. I've been on Weight Watchers for a while so I'm still trying to incorporate that into this program.
Q. What would you tell others contemplating participating in the GSP?
A. I recommend the GSP for those individuals who want a structured workout with reasonable challenges that will enable you to improve your aerobic stamina and to maintain muscle tone.
A. If you are serious about getting in shape, this is a program that will work. I'm convinced I will achieve my goals and this time keep off the extra weight and stay in shape.
A. Get started now. The longer you wait, the more difficult it becomes.
Q. Any other comments about the program?
A. It almost does not feel like a "program" it is just what I do.
A. I've known what I needed to do to get healthy but never really made the commitment to do it. At Lifestyle I have the support of a knowledgeable staff and other members who are working hard, just like me.
