When something is the best and becomes a benchmark by which other things are measured it is labeled the Gold Standard. The Gold Standard stands out as something that is hands down the best there is!

 

Hopefully by now you have heard of our new program The Gold Standard. It is so named because there is no better way to maintain or improve your health and wellness. The methods used in this program are tried and true, backed by scientific evidence and found in success stories everywhere.

 

There are almost a dozen of you in the program and initial indications are it's working. Every program is customized to meet the needs of the participant. No cookie cutters are used.

 

Everyone on the program at this point is in it to drop a few pounds. In order to do this, carefully planned workouts were developed and eating habits examined. We then taught each person how to do the workouts and start revising how they ate.

 

Ask any of the participants...it's not hard, but then again, it's not easy either. We are asking them to change the way they do things... slowly but surely. In order to achieve the results desired, change is necessary. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results just doesn't work.

We have always encouraged couples to join: it's more fun, it can help to keep you both on track and it can promote a healthy lifestyle in your family.

To further encourage this healthy step, we have lowered our rates for you. Effective February 1 MARRIED COUPLES PAY $99 PER MONTH. And, yes, this does apply to existing members. If you are lucky enough to be a senior (65 or older) your couples rate is $84 PER MONTH. 

 

If you have friends or neighbors who have been waiting for a great deal, please share this information with them.

Our trainers' appointment times tend to fill up quickly. If you believe some one-on-one time is needed to move you forward on your path, please stop by the front desk and book your time.

NEW SOFTWARE

The launch of our new software is imminent. You will soon receive an email with all pertinent information. In the meantime, here is a reminder of the main aspects of the software.

  • Monthly Dues will be billed on the 1st day of the month.
  • Other charges (Personal Training, drinks, etc) will be billed immediately or within a few days of purchase.
  • Declined billing for any charges will incur a $5.00 late fee. To avoid the fee, please keep your billing information up to date with us.  
  • The new system will automatically generate e-mails when Personal Training appointments are made. If you are a PT client, you will soon be able to schedule, change or cancel your own PT appointments via computer.
  • Personal Training appointments must be cancelled or changed with at least 24 hours notice, otherwise the session will automatically be deducted from your package.

My husband Jim has been a member for about 5 years and I have heard nothing but great things about Lifestyle from him, so I thought I would give it a try after my old gym membership expired. Shortly after joining I saw for myself why Jim likes this place so much.  Lifestyle is different; there is a sense of "no-failurism" in the air. The staff really wants you to succeed, they have helped me to get my workouts to another level that I do not think I would have been able to achieve on my own. The atmosphere at Lifestyle makes you want to do your best, all the people in the gym are working hard and it motivates you to work hard also.

 

Goals: Of course I have a goal weight I'm trying to obtain, but more important than "weight" is body fat. When I started working out I was dropping weight like crazy, but I reached a point where I leveled off and my weight remained the same. It was frustrating; but then I was educated on body fat. Even though I wasn't losing the "weight" I was still losing body fat. I could tell by the way my clothes were fitting. My overall goal is to be a healthy person, no matter what I weigh, meaning a low body fat measurement, low blood pressure, low cholesterol, and all those important health things.

 

My approach: My exercise routine consists of a one hour cardio workout three or four days a week, For me this means running, or I walking on an incline.  I have three different strength routines I do opposite my cardio days. I do yoga consistently at home, it's not much of a calorie burning workout but the benefits are wonderful! My eating habits are simple; for breakfast I eat oatmeal with fruit or toast, lunch is always a sandwich with chips and fruit, and dinner is white meat, including chicken breast and turkey meat or fish. Not so much red meat, about once every two weeks I will eat a steak. I eat lots of steamed veggies, and I try to only eat carbs during the day, not so much at night.  

 

Results: Since I started my exercise journey about two years ago I have lost 60 lbs, and four dress sizes.

 

Fun facts: My favorite hobby is playing with my 5-year old son. We play baseball, football, soccer and board games. I also enjoy gardening and running with my husband, he is way faster than me but its good fun times.

I love being a mother and wife, it makes me so happy to know my family is taken care of. It is such a great feeling at the end of the day knowing you have taken care of yourself by exercising and taken care of your family too.
