Improving You!—Step 3

Step 3: Be consistent. Keep your appointments and monitor your food intake.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. That definitely includes maintaining your health and fitness. If you have been working on Steps 1 & 2, then Step 3 is just a reminder to keep doing them. If you have been “hit and miss” with Steps 1 & 2, then this is your reminder to get started again.

Virtually every person who has been successful in meeting health and fitness goals has done the same basic things. Getting some movement every day and being aware of food consumption are the two most common components in any successful weight management program.

The reason for success though has come with Step 3... they have been consistent. I have seen so many people do the right things, but they do them sporadically or inconsistently. They get frustrated at their lack of progress and they stop. Only when they have become disgusted enough with themselves do they start up again.

Thai Yoga

If you haven't felt the touch of Jovey Bermudo as he works his Thai Yoga magic, you might be missing a refreshing experience! Those of you who have tried Thai Yoga with Jovey know what I'm talking about. Your body's muscles tighten with normal use and the pressures of everyday life. Eventually back, hip or knee problems as well as headaches become a more frequent occurrence. Thai Yoga can help put your tight and tired muscles back in place, which can help alleviate pain.

Thai Yoga is performed while you lie on a mat on the floor. You will be dressed in comfortable loose clothing to allow ease of movement and flexibility.

Jovey is at the club every Monday 8-10am and 5-6:30pm. Appointments are recommended but walk-ups are welcome during available hours. Thai Yoga sessions outside normal hours can be made by calling the club. Sessions are scheduled in 30 minute blocks. The cost is $40 per session and payment should be made at time of service.

Still skeptical? Come try a sample session for free. You'll be surprised how much better you feel afterward.

Say hello to Debbie Cox who has been a member since 2006.

Debbie works out 3-4 days per week in a variety of areas. ”Exercise has become part of my lifestyle. By working out now, as I get older I will hopefully age more gracefully and with fewer health problems.

This past year I have become more aware of portion control & have joined myfitnesspal.com to become aware of how many calories I eat each day and how many calories are in the foods I eat most often. This awareness has really helped me.”
