Obsession
How can
you tell the difference between determination and obsession? It is often hard to do especially if
you are the one who is obsessed.
There's a
fine line between determination and obsession but there is a difference. In our last newsletter we defined determination as
making up your mind to make wise choices and following through. Obsession takes determination to the
next level. It causes us to take
those wise choices and apply them incorrectly. We've all heard the phrase "too much of a good thing is
bad". Well that's what obsession
is. It's taking something good and
turning it into a bad thing.
We think
it is very important for individuals to maintain a daily regimen of exercise
and healthy eating, but not to the detriment of families, jobs or
themselves. Everything is a
balancing act and it's important to keep your exercise and eating goals
realistic and in balance with the rest of your life.
Fitness is
a lifelong journey, so set your course and take it one step at a time. One stray step does not mean you will
never return to the correct course.
We will take many wrong turns throughout our lifetime, but rest in the
assurance that you can always get back on course. This is where determination, not obsession, will serve you
well.

Let's ALL Stay Healthy
The H1N1 Influenza is all we hear about. Whether you decide
to get the vaccine or not there are some basic guidelines to keep in mind to
guard your good health this season.

The first thing you should know is that at Lifestyle Fitness
we take your good health seriously. Here are some of the things we are doing to
safeguard it: Keep these guidelines in mind and we can all enjoy a healthy holiday season!
-
Wash your hands - This is the number one way you can prevent the spread of
disease. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water.
-
Sneeze or cough in the crook of your elbow - When you cover your mouth with
your hands, the virus lands in your palm and is easily transferred to
everything you touch.
-
Keep your hands off your face - Germs enter the bloodstream through mucous membranes. Try not to rub your eyes or put your fingers near your mouth.
-
Stay hydrated
-
Keep fit - Aerobic activity improves the exchange of oxygen to keep the immune system
strong and lungs clear.
-
Eat your greens ... and blues and oranges - Dark and colorful fruits and vegetables are loaded with immune boosting
phytochemicals.
-
Stay home if you are sick.
